Mahindra is working on a new SUV called the W620, which may be called the Mahindra XUV900. It will be positioned above the XUV700 and could replace the Alturas G4 in Mahindra’s range of cars. Mahindra & Mahindra is focusing on creating eye-catching SUVs that have great performance and road presence. As part of this strategy, Mahindra has given the green light to its first-ever SUV coupe, known as the W620. This vehicle was previewed as the XUV Aero concept in 2016. The production version of the Aero concept could be called the XUV900 and might be the first SUV coupe in the market. The XUV900 is expected to have the same underpinnings and engine as the Mahindra XUV700 and could be in showrooms by 2024.
SUV-coupes are a popular car body style globally, and BMW pioneered it in 2008 with the X6. Mahindra has been considering an SUV-coupe for their lineup in India for a while now, but initially, they were not sure if it would sell enough to be profitable. However, after the success of the Thar, Mahindra is now confident that they can explore this lifestyle segment and have restarted their work on the XUV900 SUV-coupe.

The W620 SUV is not yet ready for production and may not be available in showrooms until 2024. The design of the XUV900 will be critical to its success, and it is expected that the Mahindra Automotive Design Europe (M.A.D.E) studio will be involved in its creation.
