Massive response to Prime Ministers’ call for a self-reliant India

Gandhinagar, Monday: Gujarat has stepped forward under the direction of Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel towards realizing the call of a self-reliant India given by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Under the guidance of CM, the state
government has announced “The Aatmanirbhar Gujarat Schemes for Assistance to Industries scheme” in October-2022. Industry investors and the state government signed MoUs in various sectors including manufacturing, chemicals and agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals
and farm equipment, hydrogen, electric autorickshaws under this multiple MoU held in the presence of Industries Minister Balwantsinh Rajput.
Today as many as 18 MoUs for investments to start industries at different places in the state under this scheme were signed in a single day in the presence of CM. These 18 multiple MoUs will result in a potential investment of Rs. 9852 crores in
the state along with 10,851 proposed employment opportunities. Out of the 18 MoUs worth Rs. 9852 crores inked today, MoUs worth Rs. 5733 crores have been signed with the participation of foreign investors.
Accordingly, a plant for the production of fully drawn yarn, draw textured yarn, polyester chips/PET chips by Garden Silk Mills Pvt Ltd with an investment of 2533 crores at Jolva village in Palsana taluka of Surat will provide employment opportunities
to 1450 people.
Asian Paints will start a VMV manufacturing plant at Bharuch district Dahej with a capital investment of 2100 crores and the plant will provide proposed employment to 350 people. Apart from this Mankind Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd. will invest 1100 crores
at Vadodara and will create about 1000 proposed employment opportunities.
CM expressed his commitment of the state government to provide proper benefits of “The Aatmanirbhar Gujarat Schemes for Assistance to Industries” scheme and provide necessary assistance to the industries.
Industries Minister Shri Balvantsinh Rajput expressed confidence that Gujarat, which is the growth engine of the country and contributes 18 percent to the industrial production, will attract more industrial investments including foreign investments
in the state.
It is worth to mention here that, As many as 18 MoUs signed by various industry groups-investors with the state government including 3 in Vadodara, 2 in Bhayla in Ahmedabad, 2 in Sanand, 4 in Dahej, Saikha, Palej and Bharuch, 2 in Palsana and Sachin
in Surat, 1 in Kutch and 2 in Himmatnagar of Sabarkantha will be operational by 2025.
These investments will strengthen the vision of a self-reliant Gujarat to a self-reliant India. Not only this, it will pave the way for further progress for the country as a whole and the Indian community will get a chance to move forward collectively
and take local products to the global stage.
Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Shri. Kailashnathan, Industries Commissioner Shri. Rahul Gupta and senior officials, representatives of investors were present on this MoU signing occasion.
