Gandhinagar, Monday: Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the 30th IPA (International Pediatrics Association) Congress and 60th Annual Meeting of the Indian Academy of Pediatric (PEDICON 2023) from Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.
He expressed a clear view that Gujarat has realized the theme of this conference of ‘Quality Care for Every Child, Everywhere’ through holistic healthcare approach for children.
Pediatricians who come up to the mantra of Sarvesantu Niramaya by keeping our future generation healthy and fit are like god.
Government of Gujarat conducts free health check-up of more than one and a half crore children every year through intensive implementation of Shala Arogya- Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK). Not only this, 36 lakh doses of PCV vaccine, which
protects children from pneumonia, have been given free of cost to 13 lakh children in the state.
Detailing on the reducing child mortality rate from 60 per thousand to 25 per thousand in the state CM said that, the number of Khilkhilat vans has also been increased from 174 to 466 to take the newborn babies and pregnant mothers delivering babies
in government hospitals to safe homes.
Under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country’s first advanced technology pediatric heart disease hospital has become operational at U.N. Mehta Complex in Ahmedabad. He recalled the important contribution of Dr. Dilip Mahalanabis,
inventor of ORS and mentor to pediatricians.
